The City of North Myrtle Beach South Carolina was formed in 1968 when 4 beach towns were consolidated. Local folks may still call their portion of NMB by the beach town names that were given to the area many years ago. The four towns ( now called neighborhoods) are Cherry Grove, Cresent Beach, Windy Hill and Ocean Drive. Other neighborhoods in NMB include Barefoot, Palmetto Shores, Little River Neck, Ocean Creek, Seabrook Plantation, and Tidewater. Learn more about the history of NMB on this wikipedia page
